UBC SEG-GAC Student Chapter Industry Open House
The UBC SEG-GAC Student Chapter, in partnership with MDRU, organized the first edition of the UBC SEG-GAC Student Chapter Industry Open House in the atrium of the Earth Science Building on UBC campus on the 27th of November, 2014. This event gathered 10 geoscience companies and organizations and over 100 students and faculty members.
ioGas Short Course
The UBC SEG-GAC Student Chapter, in collaboration with MDRU, organized a 1-day ioGas short course on the 7th of November, 2014, led by Britt Bluemel, geochemist at Reflex. Britt also gave a public presentation at the end of the day: “Geochemical Wizardry: Exploratory Data Analysis in action – practical applications and demonstrations”.

Student – Industry Mixer
The bi-annual social event gathering the UBC SEG-GAC Student Chapter students, MDRU and industry professionals was held at the Mahony & Sons Pub on the 23rd of October, 2014. The new executive team and upcoming events including the Industry Open House (Nov 27, 2014) and the International Field Trip to Portugal and Spain (May 2015) were announced.
