The primary mission of the UBC SEG Student Chapter is to provide educational opportunities to its members in the field of economic geology. These opportunities include:
- 2016 International Field Trip to Mongolia
- Local field trips to operating mines and mineral exploration projects
- GIS and geological modeling software short courses
- Friday evening lecture series
- Student-Industry networking events
To effectively achieve our mission of providing valuable educational opportunities to our members we are reliant on industry and individual sponsorship. We consider these sponsorship opportunities to be mutually beneficial; providing the Chapter with much-needed funds, and sponsors the opportunity to interact with the next generation of highly trained economic geologists.
Several levels of sponsorship are available and the benefits of each are highlighted in the link below. If financial sponsorship is not feasible, we are always eager for members of industry to participate via our informal Friday evening lecture series.
